Clydebank based company, Glenhead Engineering has been trading for 11 years, providing engineering design and manufacturing services to a wide variety of sectors. The company's growth ambitions were supported by a range of local partners helping them to refine their expansion plans, break into new markets, up skill and expand its workforce, and reduce its carbon footprint. Whilst successfully achieving high levels of growth, the business has received a package of support including growth advice, ICT and capital investment, and training & recruitment assistance from agencies including Scottish Enterprise, Business Gateway and West Dunbartonshire Council.
Bob O'Donnell, Managing Director and Founder of Glenhead Engineering Ltd said, "Since our establishment, we have grown to serve a wide spectrum of sectors, but with the focus always on quality workmanship. The support we have received through Scottish Enterprise and the connections it has given us to expand our precision engineering services into new sectors such as the oil and gas industry, has been a real achievement for Glenhead Engineering and contributed to its growth". Speaking of the advisory and grant assistance achieved, Bob said "On a local level, we have received sound practical advice on growth though Business Gateway Growth and financial assistance such as capital, ICT and employment grants from West Dunbartonshire Council's Business Support team, to help us expand in line with new demands on the business".
Glenhead Engineering has also worked closely with West Dunbartonshire Council to fund the development of the skills necessary to ensure quality in the service delivered. Sharon Colvan, Operations Manager, said "The funding support we have received through the Council for the training and development of our workforce has been helpful. We have also been able to offer construction apprenticeships for young people through the financial assistance received from West Dunbartonshire Council's Employability Team".
The company has also been successful in achieving Best Overall Reduction in Carbon Footprint award from Crichton Carbon Centre in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council, in recognition of its Sustainable Process Improvement.
