Entrants will demonstrate excellence through their customer service objectives and strategy, business performance, customer care activities, staff development plans and show how this has driven business growth.

Community Impact Award – Sponsored by Haven Products

This award is open to all organisations, including Social Enterprises from all sectors. It recognises organisations that seek to enhance access to social or economic opportunities for the people who live in the local community in which the organisation operates.

Community Impact may be achieved through the organisation's mission or purpose, or through wider initiatives out-with the core business that promote community and individual development. Those involving opportunities through employment for local disabled or disadvantaged people would be welcome but could also include initiatives around volunteering, on-site childcare provision, community access to its facilities or green campaigns to improve the environment. Consideration will be given to how the initiatives are co-ordinated, delivered, sustained, recorded, promoted, and particularly how they are measured and the resulting impact on the community.

Family Business Award – Sponsored by Chivas Brothers

The most successful family firms find a good balance between the needs of the business, the owners, and the dynamics of the family. For this category judges will look for evidence of professional management and responsible ownership. Diplomacy and communication skills need to be demonstrated while ensuring that growth, development and strategic ambitions continue to be met.
